N S Profin Services is located on the first floor over at D K Lane on Dickenson Road, right in the heart of the K R Market area. If you know the market, you know it is one of the busiest places you could ever be. There is always a mix of smells, from the fresh flowers to the exhaust from the rickshaws. Our office is a bit of an escape from that noise, though you can still hear the shouting of the vendors if the windows are open. The stairs up to our floor are a little narrow and steep, which we always warn people about when they visit. Inside, it’s mostly just us working away at our computers and dealing with various financial tasks. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered with ledgers and notebooks fairly quickly. We’ve been in this spot for a while, so we know all the local tea sellers and the other shop owners on the lane. It’s a very practical environment, not something you’d see in a big corporate building. We deal with a lot of local business owners who come in with their accounts tucked under their arms. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait, but that’s just part of working in an older part of the city. We just keep our heads down and get the work done as best we can.
