N Chandrashekar & Sons

Our business, N Chandrashekar & Sons, is located at No.18/3 on 27th Cross in the 6th Block of Banashankari. We are right across from the Bike Zone and quite near the Bajaj Complex. It’s a family-run place, as you can probably tell from the name. My father started things off years ago and now the sons are involved in the daily operations. The shop is on a busy street where there is always someone passing by or a bike being repaired across the road. We have a lot of inventory stacked up, sometimes reaching all the way to the ceiling. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is, more or less. We don't use any high-tech systems for our inventory; it’s mostly just notebooks and memory. The mornings are usually spent checking what arrived the previous evening and setting things out for the day. We have a small wooden bench outside where customers sometimes sit and chat while we look for what they need in the back. Banashankari has a very specific feel to it, and we’ve become a part of the local landscape over the years. We don't really do much in the way of marketing. People usually come to us because their fathers or grandfathers used to buy from my father. It’s just a traditional way of doing things. We stay open until the street lights come on, and then we head home to start again tomorrow.
