Mysore Steel Centre

Our place, Mysore Steel Centre, is located right on the 1st Main in New Guddadahalli, at number 45. If you know the area, it’s quite a packed street with trucks coming and going all day. We spend most of our time moving heavy stacks of steel around and checking the inventory lists. It gets pretty dusty inside the warehouse, so we usually keep the doors wide open to let some air in. People stop by looking for specific sizes or just to ask about what we have in stock that day. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most folks just know we are here because of the sign out front. It’s a straightforward business where we handle the metal and make sure the loading happens correctly. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit tricky to move the stuff outside, so we have to wait it out. The guys working here are used to the heavy lifting. We keep a kettle in the back for tea breaks which is when the place finally goes quiet for twenty minutes. It’s not a glamorous job, but the work is steady and we have a good group of regulars who have been coming to this spot for years. Dealing with the logistics of transport is probably the hardest part of the week. Everything else is just part of the daily grind in Guddadahalli. We just try to get the orders loaded and sent out.
