Nagarathpet is a crowded place, and 1st Main is probably one of the busiest streets you can find around here. Mysore Metals India is located at number 137, tucked away amongst all the other shops selling different things. There’s a constant sound of metal hitting metal or trucks idling outside the door. We spend most of our time dealing with various pieces of metal, moving them from one pile to another. The air in the shop always has that specific smell of iron and dust. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. At 137, the space is tight, so we have to be very careful about where we put things so nobody trips. We’ve been working out of this building for a long time, and the walls are covered in marks from years of moving heavy stock. Sometimes it’s hard to hear yourself think when the neighboring shops are also in full swing. We don't really have a place for customers to sit down and relax; it's more of a walk-in, do your business, and head out kind of vibe. Most of the guys who work here have been doing this for years, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. It’s just about getting through the day's tasks and making sure the inventory is right. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning hours.
