Our shop, Music Tracks, is found in Peenya at a place called Papu Cottage. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a music business, considering all the factories around us in Peenya, but it works for us. We have a collection of tracks and some audio equipment tucked away in this space. It’s not very big, and the walls are covered with some old soundproofing foam that has started to peel at the corners. We spend a lot of time listening to different recordings and trying to get the levels right. There’s a distinct smell of old electronics and dust in the air. Sometimes the vibrations from the heavy trucks outside make the shelves rattle a bit, which can be annoying when we are trying to listen closely. We have a small sofa where people can sit, though it’s a bit lumpy. The lighting is low because it helps us focus on the sound. It’s a quiet refuge in a very noisy part of town. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the door. Most people who come here are regulars who know exactly where to find us. We just enjoy working with music and helping people find the right sounds for whatever they are working on. It’s a simple, hobby-like atmosphere even though it’s our daily work. We usually have a pot of coffee going to keep us alert during the long sessions.
