Mukesh Cash & Carry

Mukesh Cash & Carry is located on the second floor of the Gowramma Hostel Building. We are at number 192, right across from the Jingade Market in the G S Market area of Patnoolpet. Being in Chickpet means it's always a struggle with the crowds and the narrow lanes. Getting stock up to the second floor is a real workout because there is no lift. We have to carry everything up the stairs by hand. The room is quite large once you get inside, filled with rows and rows of goods. It’s a bit dark in the back, so we have to use extra tube lights. We spend most of our time counting items and marking them down. It’s a busy environment with people coming in and out all day. You can hear the noise from the market downstairs even with the windows shut. We have a small table where we sit to have our lunch, usually something brought from home. The building is old, and you can see the history in the walls and the heavy wooden doors. We don't bother with fancy decorations or marketing. People find us because they know we are here. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, but we are used to it by now. The G S Market area has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We keep moving and keep the shelves full as best we can.
