Mohan Gandhi Stores

We are located on O T C Main Road in the Balepet-Chickpet area. It is a very busy part of the city. Mohan Gandhi Stores has been around for quite some time. The shop itself is not very large but we managed to pack a lot of stuff into it. You have to be careful walking between the aisles because of the cardboard boxes on the floor. I usually arrive early to open up before the main rush starts around ten. The traffic on O T C Main Road is always heavy and loud. You get used to the noise of the buses and the bikes after a few months. Most of our regulars are local workers or people who have been living in this part of Bangalore for many decades. We do not really do much advertising or anything like that. People just find us by walking past. I spend a lot of my time checking the inventory and talking to the delivery guys who bring the goods. It is always a bit of a squeeze when a big shipment arrives and we have to unload it. My back hurts a bit from lifting things all day, but that is just part of the job. We have things for the kitchen and basic household needs. It is a practical place for practical people. No decorations or fancy displays to look at. Just items on shelves with prices written on them in marker. I like the routine of it. Every day is pretty much the same.
