Mohan Engravers

Mohan Engravers is our shop. We are located in Shivaji Nagar on Jewellers Street. Specifically, we are at 78 on the 4th Cross of Commercial Street. This area is famous for all the jewelry shops and the constant flow of people. Our space is small, which you would expect on a street like this. We spend most of our time hunched over benches with small tools. Engraving is quiet, slow work, which is funny because the street outside is so loud and chaotic. People bring us all sorts of items to mark—mostly rings, watches, or small plates. We have to have steady hands and good eyes. The lighting in the shop is very bright so we can see what we are doing. We do not have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people just find us because they are already on Commercial Street or someone told them where we were. It is a traditional kind of job. We use old machines and some newer ones too, but it still comes down to the person holding the tool. The 4th Cross is a bit narrower than the main road, so it feels a bit more tucked away. We have been at number 78 for years. It is a simple life of etching names and dates into metal. We just open up in the morning and work until the sun goes down. It is what we know.
