Modern Furnitures Works. Our workshop is at number 75 in Hanumanth Nagar. We are right near the Canara Bank, so it’s easy for people to find us. The place is always full of sawdust and the smell of cut wood. We have all our tools spread out on the benches. It’s a noisy place with the sound of saws and hammers going most of the day. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It’s just a workshop where we build and fix things. You can see the wood planks leaning against the walls waiting to be used. We spend most of our time in our work clothes, covered in dust. Sometimes people bring in an old chair that needs fixing or they want a simple cupboard made for their kitchen. We talk to them, draw a rough sketch on a piece of scrap wood, and get to work. It’s a lot of physical labor and our hands are usually rough from the wood. We’ve been in this spot for years and the people around here know the sound of our machines. Sometimes we have to work late to finish a job, and the light from our shop is the only one left on in the street. We just enjoy making things that are strong and will last a long time in someone’s home. It’s what we have always done and we like the work.
