Modern Fabrication Works

Our shop, Modern Fabrication Works, is at No 53 on 13th Cross. We are very near the Aysha Masjid in the Mangammanapalya neighborhood. It is a local workshop where we do all kinds of metal fabrication. Most days you will find us welding iron frames or cutting steel for window grills. The sound of the grinder is something we are used to, even if the neighbors find it a bit loud sometimes. We are right in the middle of a busy residential area, so we get a lot of small jobs from families living nearby. It is a small space and we have to keep our materials stacked up neatly so we have room to move around. We don't use any complicated software or big corporate systems. We just use our tapes and chalk to mark out the measurements and get to work. Mangammanapalya is a place where everyone seems to know each other, and we like being part of that. We often have tea from the stall down the street while we take a break. The work is physically demanding, especially when we have to lift heavy gates into place. We just try to do an honest job so that people come back when they need something else fixed or built. It is a humble place, just a few guys working with their hands to make a living in this part of town. We usually finish up when the sun goes down and clean up the worst of the metal dust.
