Mobile Works

I’ve been running Mobile Works here in Bangalore City at Vakola 15/6 for some time now. The shop isn’t very big, just enough space for a couple of counters and my tools. Most of the walls are covered with different phone cases and charging cables hanging on hooks. It’s usually pretty busy because we are right in the city, so there’s a lot of foot traffic. I spend most of my time leaning over a tiny desk with a magnifying glass, trying to fix screens or charging ports. It’s tedious work, and my back usually aches by the end of the shift. The floor is often covered in small bits of plastic or wire that I have to sweep up before leaving. We have a small fan that rattles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. People come in with all sorts of broken gadgets, and I just tell them honestly if it’s worth fixing or not. There’s no fancy waiting area, just a single stool if someone wants to stay while I work. It gets a bit loud with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a while. I keep my receipts in a shoebox under the counter. It’s a modest setup, but it’s how I make a living and help out the local crowd. Sometimes the internet is slow and I can't check things online, but we make do.
