Metro Furnitures

We opened Metro Furnitures on Prabhat Road because there weren't many places nearby selling decent wooden stuff for homes. The shop is at 63/1 Basavanagar, and we've been here for a while now. We mostly keep wardrobes, tables, and those plastic chairs that everyone needs for extra guests. It's a bit cramped inside because we try to fit a lot of inventory on the floor. Sometimes you have to squeeze past a sofa to see the beds in the back. My brother handles the deliveries with a small truck we rented. People in Basavanagar usually want something that lasts and doesn't cost too much. We don't do that high-end designer stuff you see in malls. It’s just regular furniture for regular houses. If someone wants a custom size for a bookshelf, we talk to the carpenter we know down the street. It takes about two weeks usually. Dust gets in from the main road all day, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass tops. Customers come in, sit on the chairs to see if they're comfortable, and we chat about the local news. It feels more like a neighborhood hang-out than a big store. We keep the doors open so people can see what’s new as they walk by. If you’re looking for a simple stool or a new dining table, you can just drop in. We are usually here until eight.
