Our shop is right on Yari Road in Andheri West, specifically in the Versova area. If you know where the Shell petrol pump is, we are basically right next to it at number 66 Bommanahalli. It is a busy spot and the trucks are always coming in and out with loads of metal. We deal with all sorts of scraps and heavy pieces that pile up in the back. The yard gets pretty messy during the monsoon season, but that is just how it goes when you are working with iron and steel every day. We spend most of our time weighing things and sorting through what people bring us. It is heavy work and our hands are usually stained with rust by the end of the shift. We have been in this part of Versova for a long time, so most of the neighbors know us by now. Sometimes the noise of the metal clanging can get a bit much, but nobody seems to mind too much. We do not have any big corporate office or fancy desks here. It is just a desk with a lot of ledgers and a scale that has seen better days. We take what comes in, price it out, and move it along to the next place. It is simple work, really. There is always a lot of dust from the road and the metal, but we keep the fans going to stay cool and get through the long afternoon hours.
