Megha Furniture

Megha Furniture is a small shop we run on Rajpura Road in Maruthi Seva Nagar. We’re located right near Subbayanaplaya, which is a nice little area to be in. We spend our days surrounded by wood, tools, and finished pieces. It’s a bit dusty in the workshop sometimes, but that’s part of making furniture. We don't have a giant showroom with bright lights and pushy salespeople. It’s just us showing what we’ve made or what we can fix. People often stop by just to see what’s new or to talk about a chair they need repaired. We like the personal feel of being a local business. We’ve been on Rajpura Road for a while and we’ve gotten to know the neighbors pretty well. It’s a lot of manual work, sanding and polishing and putting things together. Sometimes my hands are covered in sawdust by the end of the day, but it feels good to see a finished table or cupboard. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just show the work we do. If a piece of wood has a knot in it, we show that too because that’s how wood is. It’s all very simple and down to earth here. We just want to keep making things that people can use in their homes for a long time. Whether it’s a new bed frame or just fixing a wobbly leg, we put the same effort in. We aren't trying to compete with the big malls. We just like working with our hands here in Maruthi Seva Nagar.
