Mecca Steel

Mecca Steel is located at No- 183 on Azeez Sait Main Road, right across from the Udayagiri Police Station in Shanthi Nagar. Having the police station right there makes the area feel pretty safe, though it can get noisy with the sirens and the general bustle of the main road. Our shop is a bit of a landmark for people in this part of town. We’ve got stacks of steel rods and sheets everywhere, and the smell of cut metal is always in the air. It’s a hands-on kind of place. We don't have fancy sales people; you just come in and talk to whoever is behind the counter. Most of the time, we’re out back helping someone load up their truck or cutting something to size. The floor is concrete and usually covered in a bit of dust. We’ve been part of the Shanthi Nagar community for a long time now. We know the people who live and work around here. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out. We keep a cooler of water for anyone who stops by because it gets hot. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big storefront. We just provide the steel that folks need for their projects and go about our business in a quiet way. The gate has a squeak that we’ve been meaning to oil for months. Sometimes kids from the neighborhood stop by to ask for scrap pieces for their school projects. We don't have any fancy brochures to give out. If you need steel, you just tell us what you're building.
