Maxtel

Maxtel is situated at Kammanahalli 1468/1. We are right in the thick of the neighborhood, surrounded by other shops and houses. Our place is where people bring their broken electronics and phone problems. The front area has a glass counter with some old screen protectors and cables for sale. Most of the real work happens at the back on a cluttered table full of screwdrivers and soldering irons. We aren't big on decorations or fancy displays. The walls are mostly bare except for a few calendars. It gets pretty loud during the day because Kammanahalli is never quiet. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps us cool enough. People come in with all sorts of issues, from cracked screens to phones that won't turn on after being dropped in water. We can't always fix everything, but we give it a good try. Sometimes we have to wait a week for a part to arrive, and we have to explain that to the customers. We don't have a receptionist, so we just talk to whoever walks through the door while we are working. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us who enjoy tinkering with machines. We’ve been here for a while and we know the local shops around us. It’s a decent way to spend the day, even if it gets a bit stressful when we have too many repairs.
