Mass

Our shop is called Mass, and you can find us in the Jayanagar area, specifically in Cambridge Layout. It’s a simple name for a simple business. We started this place because we wanted to provide a few basic services to the people living around here, like making photocopies, selling some basic stationery, and handling small utility bill payments. The shop isn't very big at all, and it can feel a bit cramped when more than two people are inside at the same time. We have an old xerox machine that sometimes gets jammed, and we spend a lot of time fixing it while customers wait and chat. Cambridge Layout is a nice, green part of town, so it’s usually quite pleasant to work here despite the small space. We don't have a big staff, it’s just me and occasionally a helper who comes in the afternoons. We don't have a website or any fancy social media pages to show off what we do. People just know we are here because they walk past us every day on their way to the park or the market. We keep things very informal and we know most of our customers by their first names. It’s not the kind of place that’s going to make us rich, but it’s a steady job and we like being part of the local community. We usually close up for a bit in the afternoon to have some tea.
