Marvin Genuine Leather

Our shop is situated at No.100, right near the Lalbagh Main Gate. If you are walking down Krumbigal Road, you can’t really miss us. We have been here at Lalbagh West for a long time. Marvin Genuine Leather is a small operation. Most of the space is taken up by rolls of leather and the workbenches where we do our cutting and stitching. The smell of tanned hide is always in the air, which we don’t even notice anymore, though visitors usually mention it. It’s a very busy part of town because of the park, so there is always a lot of noise from the street. We don’t have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. We just have our tools and our materials. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon is particularly heavy, and we have to move the leather around to keep it dry. It’s just a few of us working here. We don't have a big marketing plan or a sales team. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they were walking to the park and saw our sign. We spend most of our time hunched over the benches. It’s hard work and our backs ache by the end of the day, but it’s the trade we know. We just try to keep things moving and get the orders out to the people who need them.
