Maruthi Provision Store

This store is right in the middle of the Koramangala Colaba Market on Pestongi Street No 91. It is a very tight space because we have to fit so many sacks of rice and lentils inside. Maruthi Provision Store is basically where I spend all my daylight hours. The street outside is always noisy with people shouting and bikes moving past. We keep the daily essentials stacked up to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to reach the top shelf without the old wooden ladder we have. I know where everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. We sell things like oil, sugar, and the small packets of spices people need for their dinner. It gets dusty because of the market location, so I am always wiping down the glass jars. We don’t use a computer for the billing, just a notebook and a pen like we always have. My son helps out after his school is done for the day. He usually handles the heavy lifting of the grain bags. It is a busy life in Koramangala and we see all sorts of people every day. We open early before the sun is even fully up to get the fresh stock ready. It is just a regular local shop doing what it does. We don't have fancy lights or big displays, just the items people need for their kitchens.
