Working with wood is a messy job, and our place at 584/1 in Basaveshwara Nagar is proof of that. You will find sawdust in every corner and on every chair we have out for display. We are located on 1st Main Road, right near the 6th Cross in Block 4. It is a good spot, but moving heavy wardrobes in and out of the door is a real struggle every time. We make mostly beds, tables, and those cupboards that people need for their new houses. I spend a lot of time talking to people about what kind of wood they want, even though most end up choosing the same thing anyway. My tools are old but they still work fine. The noise of the saw is something the neighbors have probably gotten used to by now. Sometimes a piece of furniture takes longer than I said it would because the wood wasn't dry enough or I ran out of a certain type of polish. I try to be honest about it. We don't have a showroom with bright lights and air conditioning. It is just a workshop where we also happen to sell what we make. The delivery truck we use is old and the engine makes a lot of noise, but it gets the sofas to the customers' houses eventually. It is just me and a couple of helpers trying to get through the orders that pile up on the desk during the busy season.
