Manama Steel & Wooden Furniture

If you go down Gurukul Road in Adugodi, you’ll find us at number 99, right across from the Textiles Cooperative Bank. Manama Steel & Wooden Furniture is basically a workshop where we spend our time making things for people’s homes and shops. Some days we are working with wood, cutting and sanding it down until it's smooth. Other days it's all about the steel, which is a lot noisier and involves a lot of welding. We aren't a big factory; it's more of a hands-on place where we build stuff that is meant to last. You’ll see sawdust on the floor and metal scraps in the corner, because that’s just how a real shop looks. We make chairs, tables, and cupboards, mostly for neighbors and local businesses who need something sturdy. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most people just walk in, show us what they need, and we figure out how to build it for them. It’s hard work on the hands, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished piece of furniture leave the shop. We’ve been at this Adugodi location for quite some time, and we know most of the shopkeepers around here. It’s a practical business. We don't do much talking; we just let the tools do the work. If you need a good desk or a steel rack, we’re usually around the back working on something new for a client.
