Manak Mewa Stores

Manak Mewa Stores is sitting right at BVK Iyengar Road 19. If you know this road, you know how crazy it gets with all the people and the carts. It’s a lot of noise and dust outside, but inside we just focus on the bags of nuts and dried fruits. I spend most of my day weighing out things into small packets. My hands get kind of dusty from the almonds and walnuts. The shop is old and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. I have to use a wooden ladder to reach the stuff at the top, which is always a bit of a workout. We get a lot of regulars who have been coming to BVK Iyengar Road for years. They usually want to chat for a bit while I’m packing their stuff. I don't mind it, it breaks up the day. We don't do any big advertisements or flashy signs. The name is just painted on the front. We keep the sacks open so people can see what they are getting. It’s a simple way to run a business. Sometimes we run out of space because the new stock comes in before the old stock is gone. Then we have to pile things up in the corners. It’s a bit cramped but we make it work. Just a regular shop in a busy market.
