The Mahaveer Electrotel is tucked away in the Vyalikaval Gidc Industrial Estate, specifically at 48-1. Being in an industrial estate means there is always the sound of machinery and trucks going by. It is not like a shop on a main street where people walk by for fun. You have to be coming here for a reason. The building is 48-1, and it is a sturdy, practical space made of bricks and metal. We deal with various electrical things and phone parts throughout the day. The air inside smells a bit like solder and old boxes. I have a small desk near the front where I keep the logbook. Everything is written down by hand because that is just how we have always done it. Vyalikaval is an older part of the area, and the industrial estate has seen better days, but it is where we work. We have a couple of ceiling fans that spin fast but don't do much when it gets really hot in April. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the 48-1 plot, so I have to go out to the gate and wave them down. The neighbors are all doing similar work, so we often borrow tools or tape from each other. It is a quiet community of workers. We have a small plastic clock on the wall that is always five minutes fast, but we never bother to fix it.
