Mahalakshmi Steel House

Mahalakshmi Steel House is situated on Road No14 in Vidyaranyapura. It’s a sturdy building, which is good because steel is heavy. We have stacks of pipes and sheets leaning against the walls. You have to be careful where you walk so you don't trip over anything. The air always smells a bit like metal and dust. We use a heavy-duty scale to weigh everything out. It’s an old machine but it still works perfectly fine. Vidyaranyapura is a nice enough neighborhood, mostly residential, so we get people coming in for small home projects. We also handle orders for the builders around here. Road No14 is wide enough for the big trucks to pull in and out. We don't have any fancy displays. The product is what it is. I usually wear my old work clothes because everything gets dirty pretty fast. My son helps me with the loading when he’s not at his other job. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. There’s a small desk in the corner where I keep the receipts and the phone. Sometimes the phone rings and I can't hear it over the sound of the metal being moved. We just keep at it, day after day. Mahalakshmi Steel House isn't much to look at, but we have the stock on hand. We keep the gate locked at night and open it early in the morning.
