Mahadurga Pipe Centre

Our place is at No.6 in Kamakshipalya, specifically inside the Petechennappa Industrial Estate. Being on Magadi Main Road means it’s always busy with trucks and people moving things. Inside the industrial estate, it is even noisier because of all the workshops around us. We deal with pipes mostly. They are stacked up against the walls and sometimes it feels like we are running out of space. You can hear the sound of metal hitting metal all day long. It isn't a quiet office job. We are usually wearing work boots and moving heavy pieces from one side to the other. The floor is concrete and has some cracks in it, but it does the job. When someone comes in looking for a specific size, we have to go back and find it in the stacks. Sometimes the lighting isn't great in the back corners, so we use a torch. It is a very practical kind of business. We don't spend money on decorations or anything like that. We just focus on what is in front of us. The rain sometimes leaks a little near the door when it pours really hard in Bangalore. We just put a bucket there and keep working. It is a simple life here at the pipe center. We know the other shop owners in the estate and we all just try to get through our lists and keep the inventory moving.
