We are over in Mahadevpura, at Sita Ram Palya, number 48. It’s a busy area, lots of noise from the main road. Our shop is full of wood shavings and the smell of glue most of the time. We do a lot of cupboards, shelves, and kitchen stuff. It gets messy quickly when we have a big project going on. We started out small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage. People come in with sketches on pieces of paper, and we try to make it look like what they want. Sometimes the wood doesn't arrive on time, or a tool breaks, and we have to shuffle things around. That's just how the work goes. My hands are usually dusty by the end of the day. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. If you come by, you’ll probably see us mid-work with a saw or a tape measure. The neighbors know us for the noise we make during the day. It’s a practical job. We spend a lot of time measuring things twice so we don’t have to cut them three times. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done for the houses around here. Mahadevpura has changed a lot, but we’ve stayed right here in this spot. We just keep our heads down and keep building things for whoever needs them. The rain sometimes leaks through the front shutter a bit, but we just move the plywood back. It’s a real place where real work happens, no frills at all.
