Malnad Furnitures

Our shop is situated at No. 29-30 on TC Palya Main Road in the Hassannagar area, near Ganapathy. It is a double unit, so we have a bit more room than some of the other shops nearby. We focus on making furniture that people actually use in their daily lives. You can find us here most days surrounded by timber and hardware. The TC Palya road is always crowded, so there is a lot of dust that we have to wipe off the finished pieces. We have a team that works on the cutting and another group that handles the assembly. It gets quite loud when the machines are running all at once. We make things like wardrobes, dining tables, and simple stools. The wood comes in big loads and we have to move it inside carefully. It is hard work and our backs often ache by the end of the day. Hassannagar is a lively neighborhood and we feel like a part of the local fabric here. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. Most of our items are kept in the work area until they are ready to be delivered. People like to see the process, so they often stand by the door and watch us work for a bit. It’s a very open and simple way to run a business. We just focus on the wood and the joinery.
