Sun Shine Furnitures

Our shop is at No. 21, right across from the Bilal Complex on the Arabic College Main Road in P and T Colony. Sun Shine Furnitures is a place where you’ll usually find sawdust on the floor and the smell of wood in the air. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time. It’s not a polished showroom like you see in the malls. We have pieces of wood leaning against the walls and tools scattered on the workbenches. Most days, we are busy cutting timber or putting the finishing touches on a cupboard or a bed. We’ve learned the trade by just doing it over and over. People from the colony come in when they need something sturdy for their homes. We don’t use a lot of big words to sell our stuff. If a chair is solid, it’s solid. We spend a lot of time sanding things down until they feel right. The traffic on the main road is always moving, but inside the shop, we just focus on the piece we are working on. It’s hard work on the back and the hands, but seeing a finished table is a good feeling. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around. We just want to make things that people can actually use in their houses for years. Our doors are usually open during the day, so people can just poke their heads in.
