Mahadeswara Stores

We are at 17 on the 4th Cross in Seshadripuram. It is a small shop but we try to keep it stocked with the things people in the neighborhood actually need every day. You will find rice, dal, soaps, and those little packets of spices that everyone runs out of right when they are cooking dinner. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to fit as much as we can on the shelves. Sometimes the delivery guys leave boxes in the aisle and you have to sidestep them. I have lived around here forever and I know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. We don't have any of those fancy scanning machines, just a notebook and a calculator for when things get busy in the evenings. The morning time is usually quiet, just the older folks coming in for their milk or the newspaper. We keep a stool by the counter for anyone who wants to sit and chat for a minute while we weigh out their sugar. It’s not a supermarket where everything is under bright lights. It’s just a regular store where the floor is a bit worn down from people walking on it for years. Mahadeswara Stores is just here to help the local families get their groceries without having to go too far. We try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to walk to the main market.
