We are over here at No.638/D in Rajajinagar 1st Block. If you know the 2nd Stage area near Dr Rajkumar Road, that is where our shop is located. Most days start pretty early because that is when the lorries arrive with the heavy loads. There is always a lot of dust from the cement bags and it gets on everything, including our clothes. We spend a lot of time moving steel bars around and making sure the piles are straight so they don’t fall over. It is hard work, honestly. My hands are usually rough by the end of the day. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have some old chairs and a desk where we do the paperwork. People from around the neighborhood come by when they are fixing up their houses or building something new. Sometimes the traffic on Dr Rajkumar Road is so loud we have to shout to hear each other. It is just a regular place where we sell building materials. We don't have a big fancy showroom. It’s just us and the inventory. We have been in this spot for a while now and everyone knows the building. Sometimes we drink tea from the stall nearby while waiting for the next truck. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon and it gets quite warm inside. That is just how things go here every day. It is a simple routine but it works.
