Our office is located at No. 6 on Oblappa Street in the Chikh Mavalli area of Bangalore. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s old Bangalore. The streets are narrow and there’s a lot of history in the buildings around us. Mafoi Management Consultants has been using this space as a base for quite a while. It’s not a glass-and-steel tower. It’s a regular building on a busy street where you can hear the neighbors and the street vendors. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, chairs, and filing cabinets. We do a lot of consulting work, which mostly involves talking to people and looking through records. The air conditioning is a bit temperamental, so we usually just leave the windows open. We don't have a fancy lobby or a security guard at a front desk. You just walk in. The team here is small and we’ve worked together for a long time. We know where to get the best lunch in Chikh Mavalli and which shortcuts to take when the main roads are blocked. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated charts. We just sit down with whoever comes in and try to help them out with their management needs. It’s practical and it works for us. We like being in this part of town because it feels real. We are just local people doing our jobs.
