Madura Idly

Madura Idly is located in Indira Nagar, at Radhika Estate in Amraiwadi. We are right across from the Vishnu Petrol Pump on the T M Char Rasta Road. It’s an industrial area, very close to the Naryan Textile units. The place isn't fancy at all. We have basic tables and the kitchen is right there where you can see it. We start steaming the idlis long before the sun comes up. Most of our customers are workers from the nearby estates or truck drivers filling up at the petrol pump. The air around here always smells like diesel and steam. We don’t have a website or any big posters. We just have the name on a board outside. T M Char Rasta is a busy junction, so there is always noise from the honking and trucks passing by. We don't use "chef" titles here; we are just regular cooks making breakfast for the morning shift. The floors are stone and we scrub them every night after closing. It’s a tough location because of the dust from the textile mills, but we keep things as clean as possible. We don’t have any mission statements or corporate goals. We just make sure the batter is fermented right and the sambar is hot enough for the cold mornings. If you are near Radhika Estate, you’ll find us easily. It’s just a regular idly shop for the working crowd that passes through this part of Amraiwadi.
