Madras Steels & Tubes is located on Silver Jubilee Park Road, or S J P Road as most people call it around here. We are on the 3rd floor of building number 73. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially if you’re not used to it. S J P Road is famous for being a hub for hardware and metal, so we are right in the middle of everything. Being on the 3rd floor means we are a bit away from the street noise, but you can still hear the horns honking down below all day. We keep our stock of steels and tubes organized as best as we can in the space we have. It’s a traditional setup. We have a small office area where we handle the billing and talk to customers. A lot of people come to us because they know we’ve been here at 73 for a long time. We don't have a flashy entrance. It’s just a regular door in a busy commercial building. Dealing with steel is heavy work, but since we are upstairs, we have a system for moving things. The days are long and we spend most of them on the phone or checking the inventory. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our job and keep the business running. It’s a family-like atmosphere among the staff here. We drink a lot of coffee and get through the orders one by one.
