Madras Roadways

We've been at this spot on Tumkur Road for a good while now. Being right by Lakshmipura and the Byrava weighers means there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around. We get started early in the morning when the fog is still on the ground. Most days are just about keeping things moving. The 18th km mark is a busy place to be. You see the same drivers passing through Manyakanahalli every week. We have a small office here. It is nothing fancy, just some desks and a lot of paperwork. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit. It’s a loud area because of the highway traffic. People stop by to ask for directions or just to check weights at the scale next door. We know the tea stall guy around the corner pretty well. He makes a decent cup of chai that gets us through the afternoon. There isn't much to say about the building itself. It is a practical place. We deal with what comes our way. The dust from the road gets everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. That is just how life is here. We focus on getting the loads sorted and out on time. It is a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing. That is the rhythm of the work we do at Madras Roadways. We just keep at it day after day.
