Madhu Stores

The shop has been here on Dada Saheb Phalke Road 20 in Ulsoor for quite a long time now. My father started it and then I just stayed on to help. Most days we open up early because people around here need their supplies before they head off to work or the metro. It's not a big fancy place or anything. The shelves are mostly full of stuff people actually use every day. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around and talking to the regulars who have been coming since they were kids. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud and dusty, but that is just part of being in this part of town. We don’t have any big corporate plans. We just want to make sure the inventory is right and the counter is clear. If someone needs a specific item, we usually know exactly which corner it’s tucked into, even if the label is a bit faded. It gets busy in the evenings when everyone is coming back home. The floor is a bit worn down from all the footsteps over the years. We keep the ledger on the side and try to stay organized, but things get messy when a big shipment arrives at the door. It’s just us here most of the time, keeping things moving along as well as we can. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot, but this spot stays pretty much the same.
