Madhu Store

Our shop, Madhu Store, is tucked away at 45 B on V P Road. If you know Madiwala, you know how busy it gets around here. There is always noise from the bikes and people rushing to catch buses. We’ve been in this small space for a while. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but we have most things people are looking for. I usually start the day by cleaning the front step and checking what ran out yesterday. My wife helps me during the lunch rush when the office workers come by. We carry snacks, household items, and basic groceries. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot in. You have to watch your head near the back shelves. We don't have a computer for billing; we still do most of it by hand or just remember the prices. It’s faster that way when there’s a line. V P Road is always moving, so we stay open until the traffic dies down at night. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. New buildings go up, but we stay right here. It’s a lot of work and my back hurts by the end of the day, but it’s what we do. We don’t have any fancy displays. Just things on shelves for people who need them. It's a simple business but it keeps us going and we're glad to be part of the street.
