Maatha Fabrication

The workshop is at 42/2 in the Mahadevapura 3rd Stage area. It is a noisy place with the sound of metal being cut and the bright flashes from the welding machines. We have iron rods and sheets of steel leaning against the walls, and the floor is usually covered in little scraps of metal and some grease. We spend our time making gates, window grills, and other steel structures. It is a lot of measuring and then cutting things to size. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a corner with a desk and some old chairs where we sit to have our lunch or talk to someone about a job. The Mahadevapura area has a lot of small industries like ours, so we fit right in. Our hands are usually stained with iron dust and oil by the time we close up for the day. Sometimes the heat from the welding is quite intense, especially during the summer months. We don't have a big sign outside, just the number on the gate. People usually come to us because they saw something we made for a neighbor. We just do our work, hammer things into place, and make sure the welds are solid. It is a simple shop with a lot of heavy tools and a constant smell of burnt metal. We like it that way because it is where we do what we know.
