M S Bhandari is located at Gandhi Nagar 19/20, right where the street narrows a bit. It’s an old building, and we’ve been here for quite some time now. We sell a bit of everything, mostly stuff that people in the neighborhood need for their daily lives. The shelves are packed pretty tight, and sometimes you have to move one thing to find another. I know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We have big sacks of grains near the back and smaller items up front by the counter. The light isn't great inside, but we keep the doors wide open during the day to let the sun in. Gandhi Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always someone popping in for a quick item or just to say hello. I sit on a wooden stool near the entrance and watch the people go by when it’s quiet. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. It's just a regular shop for regular people. Sometimes the kids from the school down the road come in for snacks. It’s a lot of standing and moving boxes around, but I’ve gotten used to it over the years. We close up when the sun goes down, around seven or eight, and get ready to do it all again tomorrow. It is just a simple way to make a living and serve the folks nearby.
