M R Compressors

Our place is located at No. 8/2 & 8/1-1 in the New Timber Yard. It is a bit of a maze back here with all the wood and industrial shops. M R Compressors is where we spend our hours. Most of the time, we are elbow-deep in grease or looking at machine parts. People bring in their units when they stop working or when they need something specific. It smells like oil and metal in the shop. We have a few benches set up and tools scattered around where we can reach them. It isn't organized like a showroom, but we know where everything is kept. The yard gets busy with trucks coming and going. We have to shout sometimes to be heard over the noise of the neighboring units. It is honest work. We fix things and sell parts. Some of the compressors we see are older than us. We just keep them running as long as they can go. It's a small crew here. We drink tea in the morning and get straight to it. There is always a lot of heavy lifting. It keeps us fit, I suppose. Not much to look at, but we get the job done. We have a big ledger where we write down the jobs for the day. It’s dusty work and by the time we leave, our hands are usually black from the grease. We just keep at it day after day because that is what we know.
