M K Steel Co. is sitting over at 10/26/2 in Ayappanagar. This is part of the K.R.Puram area, so it’s always busy around here. We have a fairly basic setup for the company. It’s mostly just a yard and a small covered area where we keep the steel away from the rain. The sun hits the metal pretty hard in the afternoons, so it gets hot. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. Most of the people around here are doing their own thing, and we just fit into the mix. We don't have any big corporate plans or anything like that. We just show up in the morning, load the trucks, and see what needs to be sorted. Sometimes the traffic in K.R.Puram makes it hard for deliveries to get out on time, but we do what we can. The neighbors are good people, and we all kind of look out for each other. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still on paper. It keeps things simple for us. The yard is usually a bit of a mess with offcuts and pallets, but we know where everything is. It’s a regular job for regular people. We don't promise anything we can't do. We just keep the steel moving and try to stay out of the way of the main road congestion. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it's quiet. We just take it as it comes.
