Our spot is located right at Shivaji Nagar New Cloth Market 215, which is basically one of the most crowded places you can find in the city. There’s always a truck or a cart blocking the way, and the noise from the market is constant from early morning until late at night. We keep all our tent materials, the bamboo poles, and the folded chairs crammed into the storage space here. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze, and we often have to move ten things just to get to one specific bundle of cloth. The air smells like the textile shops nearby and the diesel from the delivery vans. We spend a lot of time checking the fabric for stains or tears after it comes back from a function. It's a lot of manual labor, hauling the heavy canvas and the iron frames up and down the narrow stairs. Sometimes the rain catches us while we're loading, and then everything gets twice as heavy. We don't have a computer system to track things; we just use a big paper diary where we write down the dates and the addresses for the setups. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. The guys who work here have been doing this for years, and they can tie a knot that won't budge even in a heavy wind. We just keep our heads down and get the gear where it needs to go every single time.
