Our shop is tucked away over at 4 Lingarajapuram in the Yamuna Industrial Estate. It’s right on Surelia Road, just behind the old Oil Mill Compound, so it can be a little tricky to find if you aren't looking for it. We’ve got wood and sawdust everywhere most days because there is always something being built or fixed. It’s not a shiny showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. It’s more of a working space where the smell of varnish and cut timber is always strong. We spend our time putting together wardrobes, fixing old chairs, or sometimes making custom tables for people in the neighborhood. The floor is usually covered in wood shavings and we have tools scattered across the benches. It's a bit messy, but that's how we work. People stop by to ask about prices or to see if we can repair a broken leg on a bed. We usually have a few finished pieces sitting near the front, but most of the stuff is in various stages of being made. It gets hot in the afternoons under the roof, so we take our breaks when we can. Working with your hands is slow, and some days it feels like we aren't moving fast enough. But we’ve been here at this address for a long time and everyone around knows where to find us when they need something made.
