Little Star Abc Montessori

Little Star Abc Montessori is tucked away in Mysore, over in the 4th Stage of Vijaynagar. It’s specifically in the 1st Phase, which is a fairly quiet area compared to the city center. We started this place because we saw a lot of young families moving into these new houses around here. The school sits at number 594. It’s basically a house that we turned into a space for children. There’s a small play area outside where the kids spend a lot of their time when the weather is nice. Mysore has good weather most of the year, so that helps. Inside, it smells like crayons and sometimes spilled milk. We have these Montessori materials that the kids work with, but mostly it’s just about letting them explore. We don’t have a fancy uniform or big yellow buses. Most kids live just a few streets away. The teachers here are mostly from the same neighborhood. We talk to the parents at the gate every afternoon. Sometimes the kids don’t want to leave because they’re busy with a puzzle. We don’t mind. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. No big meetings or complicated rules. Just a place for little kids to be kids while their parents are at work or busy with chores. It’s been a few years since we opened, and we’ve seen a lot of these kids grow up and move to bigger schools. It feels like a real home for them during those early hours.
