Lightmetals

Lightmetals is tucked away on 1st Main in Mahalakshmipuram, right off Mysore Road. Our address at 148/1 is where we do all our metal work. It’s a noisy place, to be honest, with the machines running most of the day. We’ve been at this location for a long time now. The neighbors know us by the sound of the cutters and the trucks coming in. It’s a tight space, but we make it work. We handle various types of metal pieces, mostly small stuff that needs careful handling. The guys on the floor have been with us for years. We don't have a big HR department or anything like that. It's just a workshop where we get our hands dirty. Sometimes it’s hot, especially in the afternoons, but that’s the nature of the job. The 1st Main road can be a bit narrow for the bigger trucks, so we have to be careful about when we schedule deliveries. We try to keep the shop floor as clean as possible, though it’s hard with all the scrap metal lying around. People come to us because they know we are right here on the corner and we don't give them any runaround. We just tell them what we can do and how long it’ll take. It’s a very manual process. We don't use a lot of fancy computers, just the tools we’ve always used. It’s honest work and we stay busy enough to keep going. It's just us.
