Leather & Colours

Our little spot is over at Samer Arcade, specifically at No. 4 in the L-66 area. Jeevan Bhima Nagar is a nice enough neighborhood, and being in the L.I.C. Colony means we get a mix of regulars and people just passing through on 9th B-main. The name Leather & Colours pretty much says what we do. The back room is usually a mess of different scraps and dyes. Sometimes the smell of the materials is really strong when you first walk in, but we’re used to it. The shop isn't huge, so we have to be careful about where we put things. We spent a lot of time setting up the shelves in Sector 11, and even now, things get moved around constantly. My cousin helps out when it gets busy, especially on Saturdays. We don't really do the whole big marketing thing; we just talk to whoever comes through the door. Some days are slow, and we just sit and drink tea while looking at the street. Other days, three people arrive at once and it’s a bit of a scramble. We try to keep things organized, but with so many different shades and textures, it’s hard. It’s a practical place for people who actually care about what they’re getting. No flashy lights or anything, just a workspace that doubles as a shop for the local community here in the arcade.
