Our shop is located over by the Meter Gate on Station Road. Being near the Corporation Bank makes it pretty easy for people to find us here in Vinayaka Nagar. We deal with steel all day, so the place is always full of long rods, heavy sheets, and various types of pipes. It’s a noisy environment because metal hitting against metal makes a lot of racket. We’ve been at number 3 for quite a while now. Most of the day is spent loading up trucks or using the saw to cut steel to the right length for a specific customer. It’s very heavy work and you always have to be careful not to drop anything on your toes or hands. We don't wear suits or ties here. It’s more about wearing heavy work boots and gloves that are usually torn after a week. The Station Road area is always busy with people coming and going from the trains. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit messy and muddy around the yard, but we just keep working through it. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices. We just have our stock and we sell it to local builders or whoever needs a bit of steel for a small home project. We keep a handwritten ledger of what goes out and what comes in. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works fine for us. If you come by, you’ll likely hear the loud sound of the saw.
