Laxmi Telecom

Laxmi Telecom is right in the middle of the chaos on Sadar Patrappa Road. We are at 1st Cross, house number 2. If you’ve ever been to SP Road, you know it’s the busiest place for anything electronic or technical. Our shop is small, and every inch of wall space is covered with shelves or hanging items. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We spend the day answering questions, looking for specific parts in drawers, and testing things out on the counter. The street outside is always full of people, carts, and bikes, so it’s never quiet. We’ve got a small stool behind the counter where we take turns sitting down when our feet start to ache. There’s no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that works hard all day long. We keep a ledger for the accounts and a phone that rings pretty often. It’s a fast-paced environment and you have to be quick. We know the other shopkeepers around here well; we often borrow change or a tool from each other. It’s a community of sellers and fixers. Sometimes the lights flicker when the grid is overloaded, but we just keep going. It’s an honest way to make a living in a very crowded part of the city. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop at number 2 where we show up every morning and wait for customers.
