Laxmi Iron & Steel

We’ve been at 127 3/1 Manjunath Nagar for a while now. It's right on Abhonkar Lane in the Mangar Wada area. If you know the neighborhood, it's pretty easy to find us. Dealing with iron and steel means a lot of heavy lifting and dusty days, but that is just how it goes here. Most mornings start early, getting things moved around the yard so there is space for people to come in. The lane can get a bit crowded sometimes with trucks coming in and out, but we manage. People stop by looking for different bits of metal or specific rods for their projects. We spend most of the day cutting things to size or loading up vehicles. It’s not fancy work at all. My hands are usually covered in some kind of rust or grease by noon. Laxmi Iron & Steel is just a straightforward place where we handle what needs doing. We see a lot of the same faces from around Manjunath Nagar, which is nice. Sometimes the weather makes it tough when the rain comes down on the metal, but we just keep working through it. It’s a busy spot. We don’t have a big office or anything, just the space here on the lane where the materials are kept. If you’re passing through Mangar Wada, you’ll likely see us moving things around or talking to someone about a load of steel. It’s just us doing our daily bit, trying to stay organized. Every piece of steel has its place.
