Laxmi Forging Industries

Laxmi Forging Industries is tucked away in Ramachandrapuram on the 4th Cross. We’re in the Kalappa Block area at 41365. The work here is loud and it’s usually quite hot because of the machinery. We deal with forging metal parts, so there is always the sound of hammers or presses going off. It’s an industrial kind of place with grease on the floor and soot on the windows. We don't have a reception area or anything fancy like that. You just walk in and you see the machines and the stacks of raw iron and steel waiting to be worked on. Our hands are usually stained with oil by ten in the morning. The 1st Main road outside isn't very wide, so when a truck comes to pick up a load, everything else has to stop. We’ve been in this block for years, and the neighbors are all doing similar kinds of heavy work. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving heavy pieces of metal from one station to another. We have a small corner with a table where we have our lunch and drink tea while the machines are cooling down. It’s not the cleanest environment, but it’s where we do our work every day. The focus is always on the metal and getting the shapes right. It’s just a regular forging shop doing what we know how to do.
