You can find us at Old Thargupet G6, which is right in the middle of a very crowded market area. Laxmi Exports has been here for a while, tucked away among all the other wholesalers. The street is always full of carts and people carrying heavy bags, so it’s quite a lively place to work. Our unit isn't very large, but we pack a lot into it. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling most days, filled with things we’re preparing to send out. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning; we just have a few fans and a lot of hustle. My job is mostly making sure the labels are right and that the stuff gets onto the trucks on time. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving crates, but it keeps you fit. We don’t really do any retail here, so it’s mostly just business people coming in to talk about bulk orders. The tea here in Old Thargupet is some of the best, so we usually have a cup while we wait for the transporters. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but that’s just how this part of the city is. We’ve got a system that works for us, even if it looks a bit chaotic to someone from the outside. We just focus on getting the goods packed and shipped out without any delays. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way.
